The boundless art of Sergej Aparin defies logic. He admittedly aims to break the boundaries imposed by reality and the mundane and introduce a worldview which is unencumbered by the limits imposed by reason. His oil paintings, weaved as if by the fabric of dreams, portray a world which is only ever limited by the imagination of its creator.  As he himself puts it – “I aim to understand and, by my own vision, deny the view of the world, which is happening in only one point of space and time and introduces the logical dimension into the painter’s surrounding”. Through his art Sergei denies the monopoly of an objective worldview and opens up the possibilities of countless different worlds that exist in the minds of the inhabitants of this world.

Looking at his paintings, one cannot help but feel the shackles of reality loosening. It is a dramatic effect for a painting to have. But Sergei Aparin has achieved that.
